Maruti, to build 25,000 charging stations
Maruti Suzuki India is going to bring its first electric car in the Indian car market in a few days. It will be a mid-size SUV called the EVX. However, before this SUV comes to the market, Maruti plans to build a total of 25,000 charging stations across India.
Maruti wants to spread its business to 5100 more service centers in 2300 cities of India. That's why Maruti is in talks with oil marketing companies and power generation companies to develop a unique charging infrastructure in India.
Gradually, the demand for electric cars is increasing, the number of buyers of such cars is also increasing. And so, keeping these customers in mind, charging stations are needed for electric vehicles like petrol diesel pumps. This charging ecosystem is not yet developed in India. That is why Maruti is going to work on it.
Maruti is looking to price its first electric vehicle, the EVX, between Rs 20 lakh and 25 lakh. And they have targeted to sell 3000 units within the first three months of this car being launched in the market. The electric car will be manufactured at the factory in Gujarat and will be sold at premium Nexa outlets.
